Lingua Trips
Hello! I'm Stavroula Bagia, and I've been an English teacher for over 25 years. Teaching has always been my passion, but in recent years, through my role as an Academic Manager for an educational organization offering premium summer school programmes in the UK, I’ve seen firsthand just how unique and enriching these programmes can be for students.
Every summer, I get to see kids from different countries learn, collaborate, and explore new cultures. English becomes part of their daily lives, not just through lessons, but also through activities, excursions, and interactions with their peers. At the same time, they are exposed to different cultures, developing a deeper understanding, respect and appreciation for diversity.
I won’t lie, when I worked at an international summer camp for the first time, I felt a little jealous. I couldn’t help but think how lucky these kids were to be part of such a unique experience, combining learning, travel, and cultural exchange. I remember wishing I had had the same opportunity when I was a child. That excitement is what inspired me to start Lingua Trips: to bring this incredible experience to my students in Greece.
From our very first trip in the summer of 2023, both students and parents embraced this initiative with enthusiasm, giving me the motivation to dream even bigger. My goal is to give even more children the chance to travel, experience new cultures, improve their English, and, most importantly, create memories that will stay with them for a lifetime.
At Lingua Trips' summer programmes, children learn English everywhere:
-In the classroom, with lessons tailored to their level.
-Through activities, where they use real, everyday English in every interaction.
-In daily life, from ordering food at a local café to chatting with friends about the day's excursion.
They also learn something deeper: the value of independence. In a safe environment away from home, they develop time management skills, learn to take care of themselves, and experience what it means to be part of a team.
I believe that education and cultural exchange go beyond knowledge. They are a gift that broadens horizons, fosters tolerance, and helps children grow into global citizens. And that's exactly what Lingua Trips is all about: giving children this invaluable experience.
